Comic of the week Iron Man vol 4 #5

this was a very good issue that in a way retold the Iron Man origin for the modern times and this is one of my alltime favorite stories. to see Tony Stark become an Iron Man inside and out was shocking and not expected but i loved it. hmm, i wonder if this will tie into what he's going through now in vol 5....

to those that call Captain America a tool

i can tell the ones that aren't fans because they don't know what Cap's about, they are the ones that sit up in LCS and talk about manga comics, play with Magic cards, watch and recite line for line words and fights from anime films and talk about things that they have no idea about( Oh, the Punisher was never trying to kill himself...). Cap was created during WW2 in oder to give HOPE to americians and give them a fighting spirit. In oder to know how Cap started it is imporant to collect issues from the 1940s, you never tell a fan," oh, who collects any issues from the 1940s?, they don't matter"...YOU ARE NOT A FAN if you say that. Cap didn't just start in the 60s , and it's his spirit that makes us true fans apperciate him more. He has quit being Cap before many times because of the Goverment wanting him to be something more for them and not the people.Check out Captain America #332 for what i just said. Some people are upset with Steve coming back and asking what's going to happen with Bucky while forgetting that Marvel last year announced that there will be a Winter Solider ongoing comic series and these, i'm sure, are the same people that vote on Marvel.com a few days after Cap #25 came out and voted to bring Steve back right away.I'm not going to lie, i hated the end of Civil War #7, it took me a full year afterwards to collect that issue.( I hated Iron Man a long time after that and when UA2 cames out, i'm kicking his Iron butt) But i knew that Steve would be back and it makes me sick that fans that don't really read Capatain America talks about him as well as the independent comic and DC comic readers that rip Marvel any chance they get while their companies print out boring and bad product. one said that this was suppose to be the final nail in Marvell's coffin, I don't know what planet he's on or from , but Marvel is the top comic company now and with the Dark Regin and Cap fully coming back things will only get bigger and better.

Comic Of The Week Uncanny X Men #212

Every Wolverine fan should have this issue, where it starts to reveal and for the very first time has Logan VS Sabertooth. Good stirytelling and the fact of seeing where Logan has advanced from the hothead from when he first joined the team until that point to when he knew when to fight and not go into his beserker rage.

here are the Covers to Captain America: Reborn #1

check it out

Comic Of The Week: Captain America #600

I am very pleased with this issue, from the beautiful origin done by Alex Ross to the Reprint from Captain America #16 from the 1940s. The " One Year Later " story is the main story , telling stories from the sides of Sharon Carter, The Falcon, the Bucky from the 2nd vol of Cap during the Heroes Reborn storylines,The New Avengers, The Red Skull and finally Bucky. Norman Osborn is really asking for it by trying to top Cap's death with his little speech while on the stage during the Vigilant of Cap's " death". This is the perfect lead in to "Rebirth". And to see old faces from his ex Bernie to the Selling of items from Cap's life to Joe Simon's bulletin board to the reprint of " Red Skull's Deadly Revenge !"

Comic Of The Week: Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #1

it was never seen before. the best of Marvel's Heroes against some heavy hitting villians for 12 issues. i'm sure there were others out there that told them that it wouldn't work. well, over 20 years later, this is still a masterpiece. from the first page to the last it keep you wondering and guessing. and let's not forget Venom was born during this war....

Marvel's teaser ad for Reborn #1

Marvel's teaser ad for Reborn #1

As word has been making the rounds, Marvel is experimenting with breaking the whole "new comics day" of Wednesday with this month's Captain America #600.

According to communication to retailers via Diamond, Marvel has announced that retailers may request direct-shipping of issue #600 (via their Diamond sales rep by June 5th) in order to receive the issue on Monday, June 15th, rather than on Wednesday, June 17th when copies that go through regular shipping would normally arrive.

Retailers will be responsible for the additional freight charges, and as a result, may put the copies of the issue up for sale on Monday, June 15th or Tuesday, June 16th – the first time (barring holiday changes to shipping schedules) that a regular monthly comic from one of the major publishers has gone on sale in the Direct Market on a day other than a Wednesday in over ten years.

So – why?

The solicitation for the issue itself isn't exactly subtle about it. In part, the solicitation text reads:

Where were you when Captain America died? It's the anniversary of the day Steve Rogers was killed, a day of reflection and mourning in the Marvel U...a time to look back on the things Steve did and what he stood for... or is this issue actually the beginning of the most wicked plot twist since issue 25? Yeah, actually it's both.

Captain America #25, of course, is the issue in which Steve Rogers was killed.

Speculation is tending to zero in on hints being laid in Captain America #600 that will explain or lead into the five issue Reborn miniseries by Ed Brubaker and Bryan Hitch. According to Marvel, Reborn will be receiving national press on June 15th, or rather, is scheduled to receive national press on June 15th, pending a relatively quiet news cycle, as noted by prominent retailer Brian Hibbs, who pointed out that a major event could possibly push a pre-placed newspaper story about Reborn off a day or more.

And what is Reborn about?

That's the question – though there seemingly have been hints (the title, the image released, the writer) that the original Captain America may be returning to the land of the living. However, Marvel's not saying, rather it's telling retailers and fans that Reborn will "be receiving nationwide press... possibly on par with the media coverage we received during Civil War."

While some retailers are ordering heavily on Reborn, and did the same on Captain America #600, others, such as Hibbs are pointing out problems that they see with Marvel's plans and more importantly, the notification. As some retailers have reported, and Newsarama has confirmed, the news of the Captain America #600 direct-ship (and potential media hubbub) came one Thursday, May 28th, the Final Order Cutoff (FOC) date for Captain America #600. However, May 28th was also the day comic shops received new books, due to the one-day delay of books thanks to the Memorial Day holiday. Additionally, according to reports to Newsarama from retailers, Diamond's retailer website listed Captain America #600 as "sold out" on the 28th, meaning orders for the title have already exceeded the print run, or planned print run.

With history as an indicator, Marvel will certainly go to a "second printing" of Captain America #600, but again, historically, "second printings" usually ship at least a week after the first printings, and thus, the second prints of Captain America #600 would miss the June 15th announcement.

One change that has happend in all of this is that Marvel has moved the FOC for Reborn #1 to Tuesday, June 16th rather than the normal date of June 11th, a move which will allow retailers to order the issue based on the response to the June 15th announcement or reveal, which will most likely coincide with the release of the solicitation information for Reborn #1 from Marvel.

The thing is – given the timing of the June 15th on-sale date of Captain America #600 (and most likely news in the mainstream media), and the fact that Reborn #1 doesn't hit until July 1st, it seems most likely that Captain America #600 is the main target or subject of the news that's coming, as historically, both Marvel and DC have opted "day-of" coverage for major story reveals in the mainstream media, that is, the story is in the press the day the comic hits comic shops. Of course then, pushing Captain America #600's street date back to the 15th does lead to the question of how it all happened, and how much of the changed street date was Marvel's choice, or whether the outlet influenced the move which suggests that the news may come in an outlet that hits on Mondays (such as a weekly news magazine), an outlet that perhaps has guests scheduled weeks or months in advance, or an outlet that could tell Marvel that if they want "day of" coverage, they need to change their release schedule.

And speaking of the "day of" aspect of this – the move, while it does have its problems, as retailers have pointed out, seems to be perhaps, addressing the issue of "day of" sales spikes and a quick return of sales to normal, which is the usual model. For example, Amazing Spider-Man #583, the issue which featured a guest apeparance by President Barack Obama reportedly sold over a half million copies, but sales of Amazing Spider-Man #584 were back to normal.

With a media push to get more casual customers in stores in June for something about Captain America, Marvel has something that's been somewhat lacking in previous "day of" media events, which is follow-through. Customers excited by Captain America #600 and driven to stores by the media can then be coaxed to return for the five-issue Reborn miniseries, which starts two weeks later. True, there will more than likely be issues with supply and demand, but regardless; it looks as if Captain America will cast a long shadow over the rest of 2009.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 Official Playable Character List...so far

Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Wolverine, Strom, All of the Fantasic Four, Deadpool, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Spider Man, Daredevil, Song Bird. Juggernaut. I'm sure there will be more to come.... from Marvel.com, they said that there will be more

Comic Of The Week Civil War : The Initiative # 1

Some people said that in this issue, Brian Michael Bendis underminded the regualr writer of Captain America by the scene that i posted in the last blog underneath this one. i beg to differ because it let others know that Cap may or may not be really dead and coming up with a way to bring Cap back without an bad guy putting on a ring and bringing him back to life or some other lame excuse. if you have a chance pick this book up, it's def good reading and laid a lot of the groundwork for what happening up to today...

This is the comic book that made me love comics since i was three years old

Amazing Apider Man (vol 1) #62. I think people like myself love Marvel because they're real people with real problems just like you and me and they live in actual places. Captain America's from Brooklyn Hieghts, Brooklyn, Spider Man's from Forset Hills Queens, Dr Strange's from The Village, i could go on and on but they do great things and make us feel like we are there right along with them, that's why the Marvel films work as well.

i got Captain America #50 yesterday

i enjoyed it, i was fast paced, and it was cool, telling Bucky's history while he was being pursued by the watchdogs on his birthday and the backup story explaining everything so far, and you can tell that whatever's happening it's leading up to Bucky getting his own series and Steve Rogers coming back.

oh yeah, i've been working on a surprise

i'll show it to all of you june 17th

Comic of the week-New Avengers: Illuminati #1

if you are a fan of Secret Invasion and you're wondering where did all of this stuff with the Skurlls start, you need this issue. If you cannot find this issue, look for New Avengers: Illuminati:Secret History #1, which reprints the first two issues of this mini series. It shows the secret reason as too why the Skrulls hate Iron Man,Dr Strange, Mr Fantasic, Namor and Professor X as well as Black Bolt( read New Avengers #7 to learn the history and orgins of the Illuminati) and their MO for coming to Earth and causing so much chaos for world domonation. it's def good reading and a good tie in to Secret Invasion.

SPOILER!!! Ok have you figured out who the Red Hulk is?

if you are a longtime fan of the Hulk you may or may

not like Rulk as the red Hulk is known by. if you stop to think about it and have read Hulk #1-6 then you saw the shocking ending the A Bomb was about to tell Hulk who Rulk is, but i have 2 therories as to who Rulk really is. 1 is Talbot and 2 is Betty Banner, it has to be one of the two because a there both not talked about and b you don't see either one on the case. yes yes i know that betty died in Hulk 466, but remember she had a GAMMA overdose and Rulk kept talking about waiting a long time to get revenge on the Hulk. we will all find out July 15th when Hulk 600 comes out.

here's my review of Xmen Origins: Wolverine/WARNING SPOILER ARLET!!!!!

ok, i've seen it twice now and let me tell you there's def moree good than bad in this movie. I WILL NOT SPOIL THE END OF THIS MOVIE!!!! you need to go see it, i've seen a different ending that the one i saw at a preview screening a week before the movie came out so on that note...from when it starts and those of you that has the issues or have read the mini series Origin, which btw and i don't know which "fans" said it was on of the best Wolverine stories I've EVER read, period. some people didn't like that or House Of M# 8 when it was known that Logan remembered everything, some fans wanted for Logan to stay the same without ever knowning everything about himself and some people can't handle change, anyway when the movie starts and the murder of James' "father" by Creed's father happens and then he tells James that he's his real father and then is mudered by James and then the two brothers run away together while the opening credits rolls and you see them fight in the different wars through time, to me it stays true to how both men really are. now again i'm not going to spoil too much more but one of my biggest problems is a few little things. Sabertooth running on all 4's? come on now, get real. they dropped the ball on that one. some people should have been around a little bit longer before being bumped off. i really felt that the movie could be a little longer. that's it. i enjoyed everyone from Marvick( Will I AM ) to Blob and yes Gambit, even though this is his 2nd X Men movie, if you have X3, yes he's in it go watch it again, he's there. I hope they bring onto X4 as well. Seeing the Professor was not too much of a surprise to me and i was glad to see him. like i said overall i enjoyed the movie and i want to see it again( yes, there are different eneding, one ending with Logan, another with deadpool, hey they did say that they wanted to do a Deadpool movie..)

REBORN #1 July 1st 2009/SPOILER!!!!if you have not been reading any Marvel Comics do not read this...

i'm peeing in my boxers right now for this, this has been a long time in the making and a lot of aptain america fans are loving it....

it's free comic book day, did you get yours?

i really enjoyed the Avengers story and how it ties into what's happening in the actually Marvel Universe.

Marvel makes it real easy to follow along I know a lot of people that are X Men fans but I'm a little more of a Avengers fans and this story teaming up both the Dark and New Avngers is great, i loved the story and artwork i cannot complain about this at all, hell it was free, who can complain about that ? and the way that Thor handled Iron Patriot is priceless, remmeber he said the same thing to Iron Man before and after Secret Invasion. If you haven't been able to pick this up shame on you go get it now if it's still around.
